  • Soul Dance Session: A Dance & Movement Therapy

    Soul Dance is an opportunity for you to connect and be present with yourself in a non-judgemental and healthy space, through a dynamic form of meditation that's dancing. Dance as meditation is as ancient as our humanity, and Soul Dance is about getting out of your head and into your body. It’s not about the way the movement looks. It’s about how it feels, and therefore, you are encouraged to move however you wish.

     

    Through Soul Dance, we'd like to empower people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds to freely express themselves in a safe space to dance without talking, drinking and the nightclub vibe. This is about getting great exercise, freeing your mind and body, letting go of your fears, and knowing that you're accepted and supported throughout the dance journey.

    Food for Mood: Ayurvedic Nutrition for Mental and Emotional Health​

    "What's the ideal diet for my body type?"

     

    That's probably the most asked question that I received. Unfortunately, the answer to that isn't that simple. Because if we want to find the super ideal diet for your Ayurvedic body constitution, it requires adjustment based on: time of the day; season; the place where you're at; your birth constitution; and, if you have, your current state of imbalance.

     

    Which is why for beginner, what I'd recommend starting in regards to Ayurvedic diet is to focus on a Sattvic Diet. A diet that can promote sattva (harmony and peace) for our mind.

     

    The few benefits of the Sattvic Diet are:

    1. Helping to treat the mental and emotional issues, as we're able to let go of the past and things that no longer serve us.
    2. Giving more clarity to our mind and thinking. Helping us to perceive the issue that we're facing more clearly and therefore, the solution that's needed to solve it wholesomely.
    3. Increasing our intuition as we're able to be more in the present moment. Not clinging to the past, nor worrying about the future.
    4. Increasing our ability to be a better judge, including deciding what's the ideal food to eat.

     

    In this class, I'm going to share with you:

    1. Seven principles on Sattvic Diet, what to eat and avoid;
    2. Three tips on how to strengthen your digestion (Agni), so that you can better transform life's experiences and the things that you consume; 
    3. Three tips on how to get rid of toxic waste product (Ama), physically and mentally; and
    4. General principles on how to eat for your Ayurvedic type (Dosha)

     

    By understanding the principle of the Sattvic Diet, not only it'd bring more health and happiness into your life, but also harmony to your external world and your relationship with the people around you.
